Principles of Medical Vascular Stents
The core mechanism involves mechanical support combined with biological compatibility. A tubular, open-mesh structure props open narrowed or blocked blood vessels, restoring smooth blood flow and preventing elastic recoil. Some drug-eluting stents also slowly release anti-proliferative drugs to inhibit excessive intimal hyperplasia, thereby reducing the risk of restenosis after the procedure.

Principles of Industrial and Engineering Supports
Load-distributing supports: Examples include bridge guardrail brackets and photovoltaic mounting systems. These utilize structural members to distribute loads and provide stable support for equipment or components, ensuring safe operation in complex environments.
Displacement-releasing supports: Examples include sliding pipe supports. These constrain movement in unintended directions while allowing free axial sliding, thereby relieving internal stresses caused by thermal expansion and contraction and preventing pipeline damage.
Mechanical adjustment supports: Examples include monitor mounts and spring-loaded supports. These employ damping mechanisms and elastic deformation to enable angle adjustments and shock absorption, meeting the support requirements of various usage scenarios.
Mining support systems: Examples include hydraulic face supports. These utilize hydraulic power to provide constant support, stabilizing the roof and floor of the extraction face and ensuring the safety of the underground working environment.
