Pre-construction Preparation
Technical Review: Verify the structure's height and the location of the lightning protection grounding grid; select the appropriate obstruction light model based on required light intensity; and prepare a layout plan for the fixtures.
Material Preparation: Procure certified light fixtures, waterproof and flame-retardant cables, stainless steel brackets, and fall protection gear; verify civil aviation compliance test reports for all materials.
Safety Briefing: Designate a ground-level exclusion zone; suspend high-altitude work during Force 5+ winds or thunderstorms; and implement safety measures such as double-hook safety harnesses and independent lifelines.

 

Positioning and Bracket Installation
Layout and Positioning: Mark light locations using a total station (tolerance within ±10mm); position top lights 1.5–3 meters below the structure's highest point, avoiding obstructions and high-temperature zones.
Bracket Mounting: Secure brackets to concrete structures using chemical anchors; for steel structures, weld to embedded steel plates (weld throat thickness ≥5mm) and apply comprehensive anti-corrosion treatment post-welding.
Tensile Testing: Level the bracket and perform a tensile test to ensure no deformation; ensure the bracket cantilevers outward to prevent light obstruction.

 

Cable Laying and Wiring
Cable Routing: Route cables along the structure's edge inside metal conduits secured with clamps (spacing ≤1.5m); allow 150mm of slack at bends for thermal expansion; and form drip loops at cable entry points to prevent water ingress.
Wiring Standards: Connect phase, neutral, and ground wires according to color coding; connect synchronization signal lines in parallel; tin-plate all connections, apply heat-shrink tubing, and house them in IP67-rated waterproof junction boxes.
Grounding: Reliably connect the fixture's metal housing, bracket, and conduit to the lightning protection grounding grid (grounding resistance ≤4Ω); install surge protection devices in lightning-prone areas.
